Update

It's been a few days since we've been able to post any new pictures.. We've been to Cape Breton, traveled the Cabot Trail, visited an Acadian fishing village, and explored a place called Cheticamp. Today, we arrived (by ferry) to Prince Edward Island, and we'll be here for the next two days. We've seen some magnificent sights, and it's likely our photos will not do them justice. But the good news is...we're going to post them anyway.

Along our journey, we've also met some extraordinary people! Out of about 40 people, we're two of only four Americans in our group. We've met people from ALL OVER THE WORLD, and that's been one of the best parts of the trip. We're anticipating invites to Australia and all over the U.K.

We've also taken note of some rather interesting things, which we'll mention briefly..
1. Lots of Canadians have tattoos, so Kevin feels right at home here! :-)
2. The people here are much more laid back...an absolutely stress free environment. There's no sense of urgency about anything.
3. They don't re-fill your water in restaurants. We've had to ask at all but one place we've eaten, and the glasses are very small in comparison.
4. People do not obsessively use cell phones. In fact, we've hardly seen anyone using a cell phone. Even teenagers!
5. The people here have a very earth-friendly attitude: they're fisherman and lovers of the outdoors and EVERYONE RECYCLES (even in restaurants and hotels).
6. There's a real sense of community here, one neighbor helps the other.
7. Tim Horton's is a Canadian fast food chain. We believe there are more Tim Horton's here than Wal-Mart and McDonald's COMBINED back home.
8. The weather here is crazy. Yesterday, it was warm and sunny. Today, cold and rainy!
9. Right now it's lobster season. Lobster trapping is a way of life here...and you can buy lobster everywhere! We stopped at McDonald's this morning, and they serve a McLobster sandwich. No lie.
10. The churches here are old and absolutely beautiful!
